Advanced Mark Question

HopelesslyUnorganized 05-16-2009, 17:31
I have duplicate files across two physical drives, C: and E: where E: is my backup drive.  In most cases, NoClone shows I have a file on C:\ and two on E:.  I'd like to keep the file on C: and delete the ones on E:.  If I select the option, "Keep at least one file unmarked in each group", it seems to randomly select files, many times leaving the file on E: unselected, but selecting the one on C:.  Is there a way to quickly select only the files on E:?  I want to make sure that IF there IS a file which is only on E:, it keeps one of those.

Dear Hopelessly,

Please follow the steps below:
1. Run a search.
2. When the search is completed, press 'Smart Marker' on the left panel of NoClone.
3. Choose the second tab 'Advanced'. Now you can mark your duplicates by defined folder/driver on your desire.
4. Press 'OK' to start marking.

Please let us know if it help.

THIS IS A GREAT FEATURE ----> Similar solution (1) *** BackUp *** the directories to a safe archive place BEFORE starting NoClone. Keep the backup for future emergencies. (2) If it's easy, keep the main directory with sub-dir on d:\ but move the directories and sub-dirs with possible duplicates to e:\NoClone_2check. ... (3) Sort results by directory (4) Use SHIFT+down arrow to select all files in the dir e:\NoClone_2check. (5) Mark all selected (6) Move all selected to e:\NoCloneDeleted_2save. (7) Check the _2save dir to make sure everything looks good. It's OK to then delete _2save, because the info is still in the "permanent BACKUP location".
