3.2.59 to whatever is newest

i use an older version because i like the use interface better than the newer versions
however,my archive of images that use to be 50000 has grown to over 400000 over the years. and using no close on a byte by byte search is taking longer and longer to do
i want to know if i use a newer version would it scan significantly faster, at least 20%, or if for byte by byte it doesn't really matter what version, its more the computer that does.
