Database connect and search errors

I tried out an earlier version and it seemed to work fine. When I purchased, I upgraded to build 35 which seems to have bugs. I keep getting a message about connecting to the database and get errors when comparing files. One such error is listed below. I running vista home basic with 3 gb of ram.
