Great jobs guys! the software is easy to use and gets results. my only complaint is that the files I delete off of my server are needed by my users. even though they can find them elsewhere (because there is more than one of them) they would think it was deleted and proceed to bother me. the best solution to my problem is to create a shortcut in place of the deleted files... but with a list of hundreds of files in different locations, thats very tedious.
Can you put an option in the next release of NoClone that would create a shortcut in place of the deleted file? The way I see it, the Smart Marker can copy the link to info from the one file it intends to keep. Then it can use that info to replace all the other duplicates with a shortcut.
I see one bug for this option: If i have a network drive mapped as H: and another user has it mapped as G: ... the shortcut wouldn't work. You would need to get the true netpath. ie: '\\servername\driveletter$\directory\subdir\filename.ext' instead of 'H:\directory\subdir\filename.ext'
I think this option would be a good selling point for future versions of your program. You could add a "no worry" smart deleter for network admins (and of course I get a free upgrade for suggesting it, right? maybe?). I just bought enterprise ver 3.2.43
Thanks for listening

I love your suggestion and you can get free upgrade of course. Another suggestion is to replace duplicate files with hard link. Unlike shortcut, hard link allows physical access to the original files by program. I am now working hard on NoClone 4 and will include both features in this release. Thanks.

Hi Bernard,
Hardlink can be created under the same partition of NTFS ONLY. For best case, we should implement both replace by shortcut and hardlink features. Thanks for your enquery.

Hi Tony,
Replace by hard link is ready for beta testing: http://support.reasonablesw.com/forums/256/ShowPost.aspx.
Replace by shortcut will be implemented in next release.
